A New Era of Exclusive Digital Innovation
Tennis Canada and PlayReplay have solidified an exclusive partnership to implement ELC technology across select junior tournaments starting in 2026. This marks a major milestone in Canadian tennis, with PlayReplay becoming the sole silver-certified system approved by the federation for sanctioned tournaments nationwide.
From Pilot to Official Approval
The move follows an extensive 2025 pilot program that tested the system’s reliability across numerous tournaments. “Tennis Canada is a frontrunner when it comes to adopting new technology and shares our vision for improving the sport,” said Hans Lundstam, CEO and Founder of PlayReplay. “We are exceptionally proud to be selected as exclusive partners on their journey to transform tennis across this continent.”
Debut at Fischer Indoor Junior Nationals
The partnership kicks off next week at the Fischer Indoor Junior Nationals, starting with the U16 and U12 divisions on March 22 and 23. The technology will ensure professional-grade accuracy and fair play for Canada’s next generation of athletes, extending to the U18 Fischer Outdoor Junior Nationals in July and several other sanctioned events throughout the year.
Elite Performance Tracking at Sobeys Stadium
The collaboration goes beyond officiating. Sobeys Stadium in Toronto—the premier training ground for Canadian talent—will feature PlayReplay on eight courts year-round. This setup provides Tennis Canada’s high-performance team with critical metrics, such as serve speed, ball height, and shot placement, to support elite athlete development at the Regional Training Centre.
“Electronic line-calling not only improves accuracy but also supports our commitment to fairness and innovation,” added Ryan Borczon, Senior Director of Professional and National Events at Tennis Canada.
