ITF silver classification for real-time electronic line calling

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) is pleased to announce that PlayReplay has met the stringent criteria for real-time silver-level Electronic Line Calling (ELC) on hard courts. This classification follows a rigorous, multi-stage testing process against the ITF's new three-tiered evaluation procedures introduced in July 2025.

Validated Through Rigorous Testing

To achieve this world-first silver status, the PlayReplay system successfully passed extensive assessments, including accuracy, choreographed, match play, shadow, live testing, and comprehensive reliability audits. This validation ensures that PlayReplay delivers a trustworthy and high-quality ELC experience that meets the standards for international competition.

A Defining Moment for Global Tennis

"We are thrilled to be the first – and only – system to achieve silver classification for real-time electronic line calling," said Hans Lundstam, CEO of PlayReplay. "This milestone is not only a defining moment for PlayReplay but also an important step forward for the global tennis community. We believe our technology fills a critical, previously unmet need and could address the vast majority of tournaments played worldwide."

Democratizing the Sport

Stuart Miller, the ITF's Executive Director for Science and Technical, highlighted the significance of this innovation: "The continued roll-out of silver-level ELC systems is an exciting moment for tennis, enabling the use of lower-cost, smaller-footprint systems whilst providing an accurate, reliable ELC experience. This classification is the first silver-level ELC system to provide real-time line calls... Innovations like these have the potential to democratise the competition experience for players worldwide."
